(9 February 2026, Hong Kong) Yamamoto Hamburg, the acclaimed specialist of handcrafted hamburg, is officially arriving at PopCorn mall, Tseung Kwan O on February 10, 2026. Doors will swing open at 11:28 am, dedicated to bringing the warmth of Japanese home dining to Hong Kong. Headlining an exciting all-new, all-day dining concept featuring dishes exclusive to Hong Kong, its signature handmade hamburg patties, packed with the nostalgic flavours of ‘mum’s cooking’, are served from morning to night, spanning breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
To spread the joy of its first Hong Kong branch, Yamamoto Hamburg is treating customers to a special gift from 10 February 2026. Spend HK$400 or more and take home (while stocks last) either a limited‑edition “Yamahan Gallery Eco-bag” or a cute “Hamburg Plush Charm” – each a little reminder of the Tokyo pioneer’s homely, motherly love.
Artisan Hands, Motherly Warmth: The soul of Yamamoto Hamburg
In Japan, hamburg is synonymous with budget-friendly family dining, recalling fun-filled meals enjoyed at home or out with loved ones. Prompted by memories of his own mother’s cooking and the belief that “hamburg is best when it’s freshly made”, Chef Shohei Yamamoto founded Yamamoto Hamburg in Tokyo in 2005 and rapidly built a chain beloved across Japan.
Artisanal Care: Expertly balanced beef and pork, freshly ground
All dishes embody the warmth of home cooking elevated by the skill of professional chefs. Ingredients are carefully sourced to ensure quality and safety while never compromising on taste:
Perfect Patties
The restaurant is committed to selecting premium beef and pork in a ‘golden ratio’ of fat-to-lean meat – initially perfected through hours of sampling – that ensures the richest, juiciest hamburg. The meat is freshly ground in the kitchen, then kneaded and cooked to order, with each patty revealing a wealth of layered flavours and a firm, tender texture.
Rice and Soup Sustenance
Set meals come with unlimited refills of the finest seasonal Japanese white rice with sweet, glossy grains, and a bowl of miso soup, replicating the balanced nutrition of a Japanese family meal.
Homemade Veggie & Fruit Juice
Each diner is greeted with a small cup of Homemade Veggie & Fruit juice upon seating, with the option to upgrade to a 360ml serving for HK$18, supplementing the diets of city-dwellers that often lack healthy fruit and greens.
Culinary Flair: Signature creations with inventive twists to delight the palate
The restaurant's menu is extensive and diverse, ranging from hamburg pairings with classic Japanese sauces to visually striking and innovative flavours:
The classic choice of Yamamoto’s Hamburg (HK$118)
The umami Spicy Mentaiko Hamburg (HK$98)
Refreshing and soothing, Grated Daikon and Ponzu Hamburg (HK$88)
Hamburg Combo
- Chicken Nanban and Hamburg (HK$95)
- Deep-fried Shrimp and Hamburg (HK$125)
Shiso Genovese Spaghetti (HK$95)

Piping-hot Baked Spaghetti with Hamburg (HK$108)
Inviting Interiors: Warmth envelops atmospheric Tokyo-conceived aesthetic
Designed by Japanese studio Wool Design Room, the spacious restaurant spans 1,700 square feet and accommodates more than 60 guests. Warm natural wood, softened by gentle lighting and framed within a modern minimalist layout, creates a cosy, homely atmosphere. Staying true to the brand’s home‑centric dining concept, the space celebrates the small joys of everyday life – inviting diners to savour comforting food in a welcoming environment that rekindles passion and energy for living.
Whether seeking the warmth of Japanese home cooking or the culinary delights of refined Western cuisine, Yamamoto Hamburg is poised to become a prominent culinary landmark in Tseung Kwan O.
The Founder’s Vision: To share the healing warmth that transcends borders
Yamamoto Hamburg founder and head chef Shohei Yamamoto has high hopes for the opening of his first Hong Kong location. He sees the restaurant as a conduit for emotions rather than simply a dining space:
“In my memory, the most delicious food always came from my mother’s busy figure in the kitchen. That warmth of carefully mixing the patties and simmering them over a low flame for the health of her family is the origin of my creation of Yamamoto Hamburg,” says Chef Yamamoto.
“I have always insisted on using safe, reliable ingredients infused with handmade warmth, as only food touched by human care can truly heal the heart. With this spirit, I am honoured to bring Yamamoto Hamburg to Hong Kong, sharing the comfort of Japanese home cooking with everyone.
