(24 March 2026, Hong Kong) With spring in full bloom, Hong Kong lifestyle supermarket Market Place launches Spring Fair 2026 – a celebration of Japanese seasonality and craftsmanship. Nearly 400 seasonal products land on the shelves, flown in fresh from farms, artisan producers and specialty makers across Japan, spanning limited-edition items, popular snacks and premium sakes.
Air-Freighted Japanese Produce for Authentic Home Dining

Market Place showcases the best of Japan’s seasonal produce, premium beef, seafood and more. The beef offering is headlined by Omi A5 Wagyu – one of Japan’s three great wagyu brands. Featured cuts include Wagyu Chuck Roll Slices for Hotpot (HK$200/100g), a tender shoulder cut with fine marbling that melts in the mouth to deliver rich, sweet beef flavours; Striploin (HK$260/100g); Ribeye (HK$260/100g); and Hotpot Slices (HK$399/300g).
Enjoy 30% off on selected beef items until 23 April 2026. Standout Spring Fair 2026 offers include a limited run of Kaga A5 Wagyu Sukiyaki Slices (240g) at the special price of HK$258.
Selected Japanese wagyu at HK$99 for 2 packs under the ‘HK$99 Pick’ series is one of the highlights. A recommended choice is Iwate A4 Wagyu, prized for its rich flavour and good value, available as Upper Chuck for Yakiniku and Upper Chuck Steak.
Seafood attractions among the ‘HK$99 pick’ include Boneless Atka Mackerel (HK$99 for 3 packs, 200g), Boneless Red Fish Fillet (HK$99 for 3 packs, 200g) and Boneless Hoki Fillet (HK$99 for 3 packs, 200g).
The fair's fresh seafood highlights include the nationally renowned Hiroshima Frozen Raw Oysters – L Size (HK$69 each), rich in nutrients and full of flavour, and the sweet, tender Boiled Red Snow Crab Claw – 3L (HK$145/500g) from Tottori.
Seasonal vegetables from Japan's fields are well worth seeking out: Japanese Nagaimo (HK$20), harvested after the early spring thaw and prized for their sweet, delicate texture; Japanese Burdock (HK$18); Japanese Kumamoto Sweet Potato (HK$45); and Japanese Wombok (HK$35).

The fruit selection shines with spring strawberries – among them Nyoho Strawberries (HK$129, 2 x 250g), a Kagawa specialty with small, vibrant berries that offer a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity – alongside the juicy and fragrant Ohrin Apples (HK$25 for 3).
For busy households, frozen ready-meals from century-old Japanese food specialist Ajinomoto hit the spot: Black Pork Dumplings (HK$39), Shrimp Dumplings (HK$39), Beef Croquette (HK$36), and Hamburger Steak (HK$26).
Raise a Glass to Japanese Spring with Sake, Umeshu and Beer

Spring Fair 2026 brings a well-chosen selection of sake and beer to Market Place. The sake highlights centre on two expressions crafted with Ehime Prefecture's unique floral yeast 'Sakurahime'. The first is Hanahimesakura Junmai Daiginjo Sakurahime (HK$138/720ml), brewed by Kondo Shuzo – a producer with over 130 years of heritage – using locally grown Matsuyama Mii rice. It delivers a natural rice aroma and a clean, refreshing finish, evoking the lightness of a spring breeze.
The second is Yamatan Masamune Junmai Daiginjo (HK$398/720ml) from the century-old Yagi Shuzobu, also brewed with Matsuyama Mii rice, offering a pure rice aroma with delicate floral and fruity notes and a crisp, clean finish.
During the fair, a range of well-known sake labels will also be available at promotional prices, including Dassai, Ohmine, Shichiken, Amabuki, Koshi no Kanbai and Kagatobi. Customers purchasing two or more bottles of Japanese sake or umeshu (500ml or above) will enjoy an additional 12% off.
The beer selection showcases the crisp, clean character Japanese brews are known for, with highlights from Yokohama Beer – the city's oldest craft brewery – including Yokohama Session IPA (HK$27/350ml), a bright pour with aromatic hops and a subtle, balanced bitterness.
Celebrated Instant Noodle Brands and Popular Snacks for Comfort Food Cravings

Market Place brings together an impressive range of Japanese noodle favourites, including the iconic Ippudo Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen – Shiromaru & Akamaru (HK$49.90 for 4 servings) from ramen capital Hakata, Fukuoka, offering both classic white and red tonkotsu broths for an authentic taste at home.
Michelin‑recommended Ginza Kagari’s Toripaitan Ramen, celebrated for its rich white chicken broth, and the robust and tongue‑tingling Kikanbo Spicy Miso Ramen – are both available at HK$98 for 5 servings. In addition, cup noodles such as Tenkaippin Kyoto Kotteri Chicken Broth (HK$25.90), Kuze Fuku Japanese Soy Sauce Ramen (HK$19.90) and Junren Sapporo Rich Miso Ramen (HK$14.90) are also popular buys.

For the health-conscious, Marukin Genki Natto Bonito Sauce (HK$20 for 2 packs) offers a nutritious snack with a difference: this traditional fermented soybean staple is infused with bonito flavour to gently balance its distinctive aroma.
